The Gilbert Rivera
Charitable Foundation

Mission & History
The Gilbert Rivera Charitable Foundation was established to continue the legacy of charitable giving that Gilbert began as a leader in business and in his community. The foundation, established by his family, will focus on areas of importance to Gilbert and causes that he was committed to during his life such as children, education, health and community. We understand, like Gilbert did, that together we are better able to make a difference and have a positive influence in our community.

Gilbert Rivera:
A Tribute to Our Founder
Although Gilbert passed away in 2007, his legacy of hard work, generosity, and dedication to his family and community continues to live on.
To honor his memory and ensure his passion for giving back, our family established the Gilbert Rivera Charitable Foundation. Founded in 2007, the foundation was created as a way to carry forward Gil's unwavering commitment to helping others. Through charitable initiatives and community support, we strive to uphold his values, making a lasting difference in the lives of those in need, just as Gil always did.

Gilbert Rivera was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico and at the age of nine he moved with his family to Brooklyn where he quickly adapted to his new home and embraced the city he would grow to love. This marked the beginning of a lifelong connection with New York City , shaping his personal and professional journey.
In 1977, Gilbert married Erminia, and together they built a loving family with their two sons, Gilbert Jr. and Kevin.
In 1980, Gilbert founded AM&G Waterproofing LLC with his two brothers William and Raymond, laying the foundation for what would become one of New York City's Premier Restoration Company In 1987, they expanded their vision by opening Park Avenue Building & Roofing Supplies LLC, which has grown into one of the largest minority owned supplier in the city.
Today AM&G employs over 200 people, while Park Avenue provides jobs for more than 100 employees, both contributing significantly to the city's economic landscape.
